About The Position

Chevrolet GMC of Fairbanks is hiring a customer-focused Service Porter to support its Service Department. The position helps create a positive customer experience by welcoming service customers, preparing vehicles arriving for service, coordinating with service advisors, and moving vehicles between the service lane and parking lot. The role also includes maintaining clean and organized dealership areas, assisting with calls and shuttle operations, completing clerical tasks, and reporting safety or integrity concerns to management. The schedule requires open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The stated pay is $20.00 per hour.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Must be 18 years or older.
Commitment to outstanding customer service.
Team-first mindset.
Take pride in maintaining a clean appearance of the dealership.
Ability to work outdoors and remain active throughout the day.
Acceptable driving record.
Valid driver's license in the state of residence.

Nice To Haves

Previous dealership, porter, valet, or customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome service customers and assist them promptly.
Install disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, and floor mats in vehicles arriving for service.
Identify the service advisor with whom the customer has an appointment and notify that advisor.
Drive vehicles from the service lane to their proper places in the service parking lot.
Retrieve customer vehicles from the parking lot when customers pay their bills or as directed by the advisor.
Maintain the parking lot and keep the work area clean and organized.
Assist the Service Receptionist with incoming telephone calls.
Assist the shuttle driver when needed.
Perform clerical tasks as assigned by service management.
Report situations or conditions that jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its employees, or its customers to management.
