About The Position

Ramsey Subaru in Urbandale is hiring a Service Porter / Detailer for an entry-level, full-time role designed for career starters. No dealership experience required — we’re looking for dependable, motivated individuals who want to learn, build skills, and grow into a long-term role. This position is a great first step toward becoming a full-time Detailer or exploring other career paths within the dealership as you gain experience. This is a hybrid role that blends hands-on vehicle work with customer-focused service support. You’ll help keep our vehicles clean, organized, and ready for customers while learning how a professional dealership operates. You’ll work closely with our Service and Sale teams, and receive on-the-job training in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

No prior experience required
High School graduate or equivalent, 18 years or older required
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to work independently and with a team
Reliability and a good work ethic
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Comfort being on your feet and working both indoors and outdoors

Responsibilities

Greet and assist service customers in a friendly, professional way
Drive vehicles safely around the dealership and service lot
Prepare vehicles for service with seat covers, steering wheel covers, and floor mats
Clean and detail delivery vehicles and loaner vehicles
Wash and maintain vehicles on the lot so they look their best
Perform interior and exterior cleaning (vacuuming, windows, surfaces)
Double-check vehicles for cleanliness before customer delivery
Help keep the lot and work areas clean and organized
Support the service team, shuttle drivers, and reception area as needed
Learn new tasks and take on responsibilities as you grow
