About The Position

As a Porter for Transwest, you will move vehicles around the Transwest property and pick up and deliver vehicles to customers. Automotive Porters deliver passenger cars, light trucks, and SUVs; RV Porters deliver recreational vehicles. Driving consists of local trips to and from customers and the Service Department.

The position performs minor vehicle detail work, greets customers, and reports mechanical issues. It requires working inside and outside in all weather at the shop division location and involves frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending, or stooping for prolonged periods. The role requires manual dexterity, fine manipulation, reaching, and lifting. The position is hourly, with a stated shift of 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Compensation is $16.00–$20.00 per hour; no bonus eligibility is offered. The position reports to the Service Manager and is open until filled.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Motor vehicle record in good standing.
• Valid driver's license with a good motor vehicle record.
• Ability to successfully pass a General Abilities Assessment and post-offer background check, physical, and drug screening.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer relation skills.
• Ability to work inside and outside in all-weather situations at the shop division location.
• Ability to perform frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending, or stooping for prolonged periods.
• Manual dexterity, fine manipulation, and ability to reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 80 lbs.
• Ability to operate simple machinery.
• Normal range of hearing and vision.

Responsibilities

• Pick up vehicles from customers.
• Drive customer and stock vehicles around company property.
• Perform minor detail work on vehicles, including courtesy windshield and wiper service.
• Greet customers who enter the location.
• Report mechanical issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
