About The Position

Responsible for administering, clarifying and interpreting existing documented service policies and tariffs for multiple states for the design organization and customers. Serves as the primary resource regarding Service Policy for Distribution Design and Engineering, Construction, Legal, Regulatory and Rates. Resource for training service policy as well as tariff application and procedures. Responsible for documentation of policy related to Tariffs and Service Policy. Ensures consistent application of policy across business areas. Responsible for granting exceptions to external customer requests. Responsible for Service Policy website updates for all states within company territories. Liaison between the Rates and Design Departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years' experience in construction, engineering, delivery design, process improvement, policy development or close related field.
  • Demonstrated skills in problem resolution, communication, decision making, process improvement and policy development.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience writing administrative policies and procedures
  • Previous experience with automation tools i.e. copilot or Power Automate
  • Previous experience in utility rates.
  • Previous experience with SAP, Madcap, Microsoft Office and gas/electric tariffs.

Responsibilities

  • Administering and interpreting existing documented service policies and tariffs for internal and external customers by providing guidance in service policy.
  • Proposing language for tariff changes which influences corporate policy and customer requirements.
  • Addressing escalated internal and external customer questions to facilitate the understanding and consistent application of policies and interpretations of the tariffs.
  • Coordinating with other business units to resolve external customer requests for exceptions to the company's Standard for Installation and Use.
  • Working with internal departments to recommend tariff changes to Service Policy to meet corporate goals while maintaining levels of regulatory compliance and fairness to all customers.
  • Working in conjunction with Asset Management, Legal and Rates to ensure policies and tariffs are accurate and up to date.
  • Promoting consistent application of existing policies and recommend policy modifications as appropriate to improve processes and customer satisfaction.
  • Initiating efforts to maintain consistent tools for internal and external customers to easily access service policies and tariffs related to the business.
  • Providing and/or coordinating training as needed to ensure consistent use of Service Policy procedures, tariff adherence.
  • Working with Electric Meter and Engineering on updates to the company's Standard for Installation and Use.
  • Initiating internal and external communication of tariff and policy changes.
  • Responsible for website updates.
