About The Position

As a Service Plumbing Estimator, you'll play a key role in supporting MTech's Service team by developing accurate, competitive estimates for plumbing service projects, retrofits, replacements, and maintenance-related work. Working closely with Service Account Managers, field technicians, vendors, and clients, you'll evaluate project requirements, develop scopes of work, and prepare cost estimates that support sales growth and successful project execution. This role combines technical plumbing knowledge, problem-solving, and collaboration to deliver solutions that meet client needs while supporting MTech's commitment to quality, innovation, and exceptional customer service throughout Colorado's Front Range.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial plumbing, mechanical systems, estimating, project management, service operations, or a related field
  • Knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, piping systems, equipment, and construction practices
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating-related software
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships across teams and with clients
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and a customer-focused mindset

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for plumbing service projects, equipment replacements, retrofits, maintenance repairs, and tenant improvement work
  • Review drawings, specifications, site conditions, and other project documentation to determine scope, labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor requirements
  • Conduct site visits as needed to evaluate existing conditions, project logistics, and scope development
  • Collaborate with Service Account Managers, field technicians, vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to develop accurate and complete estimates
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive and comprehensive proposals
  • Develop conceptual budgets and pricing when complete project documentation is unavailable
  • Prepare cost comparisons, scope evaluations, and pricing analyses to support project decision-making
  • Participate in project reviews, handoff meetings, and sales strategy discussions to support successful project acquisition and execution
  • Mentor and support the development of team members through knowledge sharing and collaboration
  • Maintain accurate estimating records, documentation, and project files
  • Regular and predictable attendance is expected in order to meet the requirements of this position
