About The Position

Wilkinson Companies is looking for a skilled Project Manager / Estimator to manage commercial plumbing and gas projects from preconstruction through completion. This hybrid role involves accurate estimating, competitive bidding, securing projects, and ensuring timely, within-budget delivery according to company standards. The position requires acting as a liaison between clients, design teams, subcontractors, and field crews, while also contributing to business development and revenue growth.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing and gas construction systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Experience managing projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Proven estimating skills with ability to perform accurate take-offs and develop competitive bids.
  • Proficient with project management and estimating software (e.g., Procore, QuoteSoft, MS Project, Excel).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong client relationship and business development capabilities.
  • Must remain calm and focused in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for team leadership and client communication.
  • Proactive decision-making and conflict resolution skills.
  • Leadership skills for supervising field associates and subcontractor teams.
  • 5+ years of experience in plumbing gas construction, including project management and estimating responsibilities.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Journeyman or Master Plumber License preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple new construction plumbing and gas projects simultaneously.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate all phases of work.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Oversee procurement of materials, subcontractors, and equipment.
  • Monitor job progress, budgets, costs, and timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Conduct jobsite inspections and resolve project issues promptly.
  • Supervise and support Foremen, subcontractors, and project field teams.
  • Initiate, track, and manage change orders — including scope adjustments, pricing, client approvals, and documentation to ensure timely billing and profitability.
  • Prepare project take-offs, cost estimates, and competitive bids for plan & spec and design-build projects.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and addenda to determine project scope.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
  • Prepare proposal documents, budgets, and bid submissions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, general contractors, architects, and engineers.
  • Participate in project interviews, presentations, and negotiations.
  • Collaborate with Construction Division Manager to develop sales strategies and pursue target projects.
