About The Position

This role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems. The apprentice will work on various components including water, drain, sewer, gas, fixtures, and related equipment. The position requires completing preventative maintenance, installing and repairing systems according to codes, and documenting work accurately. Communication with customers and team members is essential, as is maintaining tools, equipment, and a safe work environment. The apprentice will also participate in training to advance towards Journeyman licensure.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or willing to enroll in a registered plumbing apprenticeship program.
  • Basic working knowledge of plumbing theory, diagnostics, drain systems, and common service procedures.
  • Previous hands-on plumbing service experience required.
  • Ability to diagnose and complete routine plumbing repairs independently.
  • Ability to recognize when Journeyman guidance or assistance is needed.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a professional attitude.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a service team.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Independently diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues involving water, drain, sewer, gas, fixtures, and related systems.
  • Perform plumbing repairs, maintenance, and replacements on fixtures, water heaters, pumps, piping, and related equipment.
  • Perform drain cleaning, stoppage removal, and basic drain-system diagnostics.
  • Complete preventative maintenance inspections and routine service work.
  • Determine appropriate repair methods and communicate findings and recommendations clearly.
  • Request guidance or assistance from Journeyman Plumbers when encountering complex issues or work requiring additional supervision.
  • Install and repair plumbing systems according to applicable codes, manufacturer specifications, and company quality standards.
  • Complete service documentation, work orders, and daily reports accurately and promptly.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Organize and maintain service tools, equipment, materials, and vehicle inventory.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and OSHA standards.
  • Participate in apprenticeship training and continuing education to expand technical knowledge and progress toward Journeyman licensure.
