About The Position

This Service Plumber role is perfect for a hands-on pro skilled in diagnosing and repairing plumbing and hydronic systems. You’ll run maintenance, start-ups, quality checks, troubleshoot complex issues, and even mentor technicians, all within RK’s award-winning, safety-first culture with weekly pay and strong training support. The Service Plumber is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of plumbing and hydronic systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role includes servicing plumbing and hydronic piping, water heaters, boilers, and pumps; performing scheduled maintenance tasks; and completing equipment start-ups. The Service Plumber conducts quality control inspections, identifies technical issues, and applies effective solutions while maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Must have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools
Ability to lift and carry 51 to 75 lbs. occasionally, and/or 31 to 45 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 16 to 22 pounds of force constantly to move objects

Responsibilities

Diagnoses and repairs plumbing and hydronic piping, water heaters, boilers and pumps.
Performs maintenance tasks as planned.
Completes equipment start-ups.
Conducts quality control inspections.
Performs technical troubleshooting and diagnostics.
Guides field staff in properly completing specialized forms required and assist in providing paperwork to the necessary departments.
Carries out owner training as required.
Daily coordination with the Customer Services department.
Makes service-related decisions in a timely manner that is in the best interest of the company.
Follows up on callbacks and completion of jobs.
Calls for inspection when asked or job requires, meets with inspectors, and makes sure job passes all required inspections.
Assists in the training of RK Mechanical Service technicians.
Assists in pricing with Account Managers or Service Writer when required.
Develops lead referrals resulting from service activities for the Sales Department or Service Writer.
Guides field staff in the execution of any or all of the tasks listed above.
Performs any other reasonable task as requested.
