About The Position
A position of Serviceperson is open for a qualified individual physically able to meet all the requirements necessary for the performance of the duties that his job entails.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Ability to be contacted by phone and available for emergencies.
- Ability to learn meter reading equipment.
- Working knowledge of and ability to use hand tools.
- Possess a valid driver’s license at all times.
- Physically capable of performing manual labor.
Responsibilities
- Reading meters using reading equipment and manual reads as needed.
- Investigate high readings and leaks on service.
- Change out water meters and meter reading equipment.
- Reopen accounts with the remote meters and box and wire.
- Read/Replace vault meters as directed.
- Investigate on complaints stemming from poor flows (flow tests).
- Set meters on new accounts (initial service).
- Go out on shut offs.
- Take and execute verbal (radio, telephone or direct) and written orders.
- Make concise reports, completely understandable, for all through whose hands such would be cleared.
- Set and repair meter reading equipment and wiring.
- Bench test meters for accuracy.
- Assist in special assignments as directed by Meter Supervisor/Manager.
