About The Position

Metrolinx is seeking a Service Person II for its Bus Fleet Maintenance & Engineering Office. This role involves servicing, fueling, parking, and cleaning buses, primarily on the fuel and mop lines. The position operates under the supervision of the Supervisor, Bus Fleet Service Line and is responsible for ensuring the fleet is maintained to a high standard. Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of motor vehicle inspection of fluids, belts, pullies, and tires.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in servicing buses or heavy equipment, as well as, assisting with repairs in bus or heavy vehicle maintenance environment.
  • Must successfully complete mandatory environmental, safety and all other training required by corporate policy including new courses that are or could be adjusted with these policies.
  • Must have a valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s licence and must meet corporate standard for a good driving record.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Class “C” driver’s licence and “Z” endorsement.
  • Must be able to obtain GO Transit Forklift driving certificate.
  • Must successfully complete environmental, safety and any other training required by corporate policy.
  • Ability to obtain job related certifications as required.

Responsibilities

  • Services the bus fleet by fueling, cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and full detailing of buses.
  • Driving and checking buses, circle check and document inspections.
  • Performs interior, exterior and maintenance cleaning duties on the bus, and support fleet.
  • Update and replace bus documents and electronic sign data.
  • Completes on-the-road change-offs.
  • Performs spills containment and clean up.
  • Perform seat replacement.
  • Complete inspection of vehicle fluids and top-up fluid when required.
  • Perform wheel and tire inspection for damage and tread depth measurement.
  • Follows all safety procedures.
  • Monitors on-site the facility and equipment and reports any unusual items to the Service Line Supervisors and takes corrective action as appropriately directed.
  • Performs other related duties as may be assigned.
