Service Painter III - Phoenix Products
About The Position
This role involves assisting Painters I & II with preparation work and general maintenance in the painting area. The Service Painter III is expected to work in a safe and orderly manner, continuously seeking improvements and ensuring the safety of others. A positive attitude and role model behavior are important. The position requires maintaining a minimum set of tools, ensuring the care and maintenance of company equipment, and performing duties as assigned on work orders. Specific tasks include preparing machines for paint, assisting with the transformation of heavy equipment from various degrees of corrosion to a finished product, pressure washing or sandblasting, completing bodywork on various components, and cleaning/rebuilding paint guns, pumps, and pots. Additionally, the role involves performing various maintenance jobs around the shop, such as changing light bulbs, filters, and hoses on blast pots.
Requirements
- Over one (1) year to three (3) years experience as a Painter required.
- Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.
- Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. (some exceptions)
Responsibilities
- Assists Painters I & II in prep work and general maintenance in the painting area.
- Attends training sessions as required.
- Works in a neat, orderly, and safe manner, constantly looking for improved methods and the safety of others.
- Maintains a positive attitude and acts as a role model for the other employees to follow.
- Maintains a minimum set of tools required for job performance.
- Maintains the care and maintenance of company machines/equipment. Ensures co-workers are doing the same.
- Performs duties on work order.
- Assists in prep of machines for paint.
- Assists in taking all types of heavy equipment, generator sets, air compressors, trailers, etc. from various degrees of corrosion to a finished product suitable for sale or return to customer.
- Pressure washes or sandblasts, as necessary.
- Completes bodywork on doors, counterweights, cabs, etc., as required.
- Cleans and rebuilds paint guns, pumps, and pots.
- Performs various maintenance jobs around the shop such as changing light bulbs, filters, hoses on blast pots, etc.
