About The Position

We live that statement every single day. We are looking for a Service Manager to help support that mission. The Service Manager is directly responsible for the management and/or supervision of the Service Department as it relates to the goals of your perspective branch and Branch Manager.

Requirements

  • Complete and maintain all factory certifications within 180 days of original date of hire.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • At least 2 years of experience in a heavy-duty diesel shop
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and ability
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Employment eligibility will be verified at the time of hire.
  • Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen (including THC).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or technical education in Automotive, Diesel or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Working with recruitment and HR to maintain staff levels that appropriately support customer demand
  • Working directly with personnel to ensure proper job function performance
  • Maintaining continuous personnel improvement processes that include cross training and management support
  • Working with other department managers to encourage cross departmental workflow
  • Maintaining and managing inventory levels that both enhance customer service and maintain corporate goals
  • Assisting with policy and procedure enhancements to encourage an environment that promotes ease of business
  • Hold weekly departmental meetings to address comments, questions and/or concerns as it relates to productivity of the department
  • Regularly schedule time to spend in the market managing, maintaining and increasing customer relationships
  • Regularly review the Monthly Operating Statement (M.O.S.) to measure: Departmental financial state (forecast vs. current), Areas for improvement, Staffing levels, Evaluating the market to determine appropriate means for gaining market share
  • Other duties as assigned by Branch Manager
