About The Position

Atlantic Forklift Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to lead their Greer, South Carolina service operations. As a member of the leadership team, the Service Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring customers receive exceptional service while supporting a talented group of technicians. This role is for an individual passionate about leading a team to deliver outstanding service in a dynamic environment alongside high-performing and caring colleagues.

Requirements

  • 2- or 4-year business degree or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of five years’ technical experience in material handling or related industrial equipment industry.
  • Prior management experience.
  • Exceptional computer skills with the ability to use technology with little direction.
  • A clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word; Excel, Outlook and Google Chrome, and CRM system.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure environmental, health, and safety compliance within the service department by overseeing that all technical personnel follow and maintain safe work habits.
  • Develop and lead the technical service team to achieve service revenue and profitability goals by managing recruitment, product training, development, and performance of service technicians.
  • Coach, counsel, and manage performance for all technical service personnel through the development and implementation of individual development plans.
  • Work closely with necessary team members to resolve disputes quickly, ensuring customer satisfaction while managing overall costs.
  • Manage service technician expenses and resources.
  • Drive for complete utilization of the service team and develop team efficiency.
  • Provide quality control of all service jobs to ensure customer expectations and profitability goals are met and exceeded.
  • Assist customers, service, sales, and parts teams by answering questions or directing them to the correct personnel, and when necessary, capturing data in the job management system.
  • Support the service admin team in preparing service quotes and proposals by providing technical support to reduce callbacks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
