About The Position

Holt of California is a Caterpillar dealer selling and servicing a wide variety of equipment including Large and Small Construction Tractors, Forklifts, and Prime/Stand-by-Power Generation. This position is located in West Sacramento, CA. The Service Manager has overall responsibility for the Material Handling Division Sales Department and its employees, reporting to the Division General Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.
  • Coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals, and advises dealers and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.
  • Assigns sales territory to sales personnel.
  • Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and to assist dealer’s sales representatives in promoting sales.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates, and develops sales campaigns to accommodate goals of company.
  • Represents Company at trade association meetings to promote product.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume and potential sales.
  • Develop field sales staff to improve market penetration and profitability.
  • Promote sales to national account type customers and develop national accounts market program.
  • Develop allied sales efforts.
  • Review and approve field sales expense reports and necessary communications.
  • Recommends or approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations.
  • Lead the New Product Introduction process.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
