About The Position

EquipmentShare is seeking a Service Manager for its rental facility in Calumet City, IL. This role is responsible for leading a team of Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technicians (Mechanics) and driving the company's mission to transform the construction industry through innovative technology and exceptional service. The Service Manager will utilize EquipmentShare's proprietary T3 platform to manage work orders, track service intervals, order parts, and diagnose equipment issues efficiently. The position involves coordinating and supervising the quality performance of mechanics, scheduling repairs, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Additionally, the role includes employee training and development, maintaining a safe work environment, and other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Industry knowledge (rental industry or related construction field), innovative, and dependable.
  • Ideally three years of maintenance and service experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptable to the fast pace of a growing company.
  • Ability to quickly educate oneself and stay up-to-date on EquipmentShare products and services.
  • Competitive spirit, thriving in a team-oriented environment.
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • High School diploma; Trade school certificate preferred.
  • Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair preferred.
  • Experience leading maintenance teams.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must be able to move, stand, stoop, and bend freely.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen (safety sensitive position).

Responsibilities

  • Create, assign, and monitor work orders using company technology.
  • Track machine service intervals and order necessary parts.
  • Diagnose equipment issues by analyzing data and determining root causes.
  • Coordinate and supervise the quality performance of equipment mechanics and service personnel.
  • Schedule repairs for customer and company-owned rental equipment.
  • Maintain and nurture existing customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for EquipmentShare to support their business.
  • Respond promptly to and resolve customer inquiries, requests, and complaints.
  • Oversee employee training and development.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
