About The Position

This position is responsible for monitoring general assigned activities of a team in the field to include service, testing, trouble-shooting and repairs of fire alarm/life safety systems and related components. Manages a team of technicians, ensures compliance with safety regulations (NFPA, local codes), maintains customer satisfaction, and drives operational efficiency and revenue growth within the service department.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with commercial and residential fire alarm systems required.
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards required (including 70 and 72).

Nice To Haves

  • NICET certification preferred (requires prior experience or training).

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, schedules, and supports fire alarm service technicians.
  • Hires, trains, and evaluates staff performance.
  • Ensures technicians maintain required certifications and licenses.
  • Ensures timely completion of work orders.
  • Manages dispatching and prioritization of service requests
  • Monitors job progress and resolve technical or customer issues.
  • Promotes a culture of safety, accountability, and quality.
  • Requires the ability to act in a lead capacity and manage teams or groups of individuals on projects.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently.
  • Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation to/from the office or job site.
  • Must be flexible with scheduling requirements.
  • Requires the ability to display knowledge of principles, practices, codes and regulations related to the work.
  • Requires the ability to display knowledge of basic practices of reviewing official documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Requires the ability to interpret, apply, and explain applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Requires the ability to use or repair small/light equipment, such as power tools, ladders, medium equipment and machinery
  • Meets with building engineers, property management and/or site contacts to discuss work status.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles, in a way that facilitates the loading and unloading of the truck while observing all safety regulations and manufacturer’s safety instructions for that equipment.
  • Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures including driver safety and personal protective equipment.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.
  • Ability to travel when needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
