About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and driven Service Manager to lead our service division. This role is responsible for overseeing daily service operations, managing field technicians, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving profitability within the service department. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, deep HVAC/mechanical knowledge, and a hands-on approach to operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC/mechanical service operations
  • 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, piping, and ductwork
  • Proven ability to manage teams and service operations effectively
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Experience with scheduling, dispatching, and job costing
  • Must be able to pass pre and random drug tests

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Experience in a mid-sized mechanical contractor or engineering firm
  • Familiarity with service management software (e.g., ServiceTitan, FieldEdge, etc.)
  • Strong financial acumen (budgeting, forecasting, P&L)
  • Ability to meet sensitive timelines
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office suite including MS Excel software

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day service department operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and workflow coordination
  • Ensure efficient utilization of technicians and resources
  • Monitor job progress, timelines, and service quality
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of service technicians and support staff
  • Conduct performance evaluations, training, and coaching
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Team development and leadership
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key service clients
  • Resolve escalated service issues promptly and professionally
  • Maintain strong client relationships to drive repeat business
  • Manage departmental budgets, forecasting, and P&L performance
  • Review job costing, margins, and billing accuracy
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency
  • Provide guidance on HVAC, piping, and ductwork service challenges
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations
  • Support troubleshooting and complex service diagnostics
  • Implement and refine service processes, systems, and KPIs
  • Drive adoption of service management software and reporting tools
  • Continuously improve response times and service delivery
