IMD is seeking an experienced HVAC/R Service Technician to join our Windsor, Colorado–based service team. This role is ideal for a hands‑on technician who enjoys solving complex mechanical issues, managing multiple service calls, and building strong, trusted relationships with customers. The Service Technician will diagnose, repair, maintain, and install HVAC/R systems across a variety of commercial and industrial environments while serving as a key point of contact for customers and internal project teams.

Requirements

  • Small tonnage packaged A/C units
  • Large tonnage VAV units (up to 120 tons)
  • Boilers (maintenance, annual inspections, and repairs)
  • Water pumps, including motor bearings and pump seal replacement
  • Chilled water and hot water loop systems
  • Air‑side airflow and distribution issues
  • VRF systems
  • Strong customer service mindset and professional presence
  • Ability to build and maintain long‑term customer relationships
  • Comfortable working in fast‑paced, multi‑job service environments
  • Clear, confident communication skills
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools (tape measure, drills, calculators, construction‑related tools)
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights or on elevated platforms
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor throughout the workday
  • Comfortable working in commercial and industrial job environments
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior HVAC/R service experience required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary on‑site representative of IMD, delivering high‑quality service and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install HVAC/R equipment and systems
  • Coordinate service work across multiple jobs, accounts, and customer sites simultaneously
  • Communicate clearly with customers, supervisors, and project teams regarding work status, findings, and recommendations
  • Review building layouts, equipment conditions, and job requirements to plan and execute service work effectively
  • Utilize diagnostic tools, hand tools, software, blueprints, and engineering specifications to complete work accurately
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company and site safety standards
  • Maintain accountability for company tools, equipment, and materials
  • Demonstrate flexibility in work schedule; occasional overtime and/or weekend work may be required
