Requirements

Proven experience in generator maintenance, repair, power generation, or a related technical service environment.
Previous experience leading, supervising, or developing technicians in a field service or service operations environment.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems associated with generator equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
Strong organizational and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple technicians, service priorities, and customer needs simultaneously.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work successfully with technicians, customers, and internal leadership.
Strong customer-service mindset with the ability to professionally address service concerns and help drive solutions.
Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and established service procedures.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced service environment where schedules and priorities may change based on customer needs.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop the service technician team – Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, technical guidance, and performance feedback to build a highly skilled and accountable service team.
Manage daily service operations – Oversee technician workload, scheduling, and field service activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and within customer expectations.
Coordinate and prioritize service work – Balance scheduled maintenance, repairs, emergency service needs, and technician availability while adjusting priorities as business and customer needs change.
Provide technical leadership – Serve as a resource for technicians when diagnosing complex generator, electrical, mechanical, and power generation system issues. Assist with troubleshooting and determining appropriate repair solutions when needed.
Drive quality and productivity – Monitor service performance, workmanship, efficiency, and job completion to ensure company standards are consistently met. Identify opportunities to improve processes, technician utilization, and overall service delivery.
Support technician development – Identify training and development needs, reinforce technical standards, and help technicians expand their skills and capabilities.
Champion a strong safety culture – Ensure technicians follow company safety policies, regulatory requirements, and established procedures while working in the shop and at customer locations.
Maintain accurate service documentation – Ensure work orders, service records, repair documentation, and other required reporting are completed accurately and on time.
Manage tools and service resources – Help ensure technicians have the appropriate tools, equipment, information, and resources necessary to perform their work effectively.
Deliver an excellent customer experience – Partner with customers and internal teams to communicate service status, address technical concerns, resolve issues, and maintain strong customer relationships.
