Service Field Techs or NETA Technicians are expected to perform service, test and maintain various types of power transmission and distribution equipment. This role involves inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, performing start-ups, and collecting data on low, medium, and/or high voltage (up to 500kV) electrical systems. Responsibilities include testing switchgear and circuit breakers, performing maintenance, testing, and repair of transformers, and working with SF6 filled equipment and gas insulated switchgear. The role also requires testing and inspecting low and medium voltage cable installations, operating high voltage test equipment, and performing start-up, troubleshooting, and repair on controls and transfer schemes. Additionally, the position involves rotating emergency on-call duty and responding to customer emergencies in a timely manner, all while strictly complying with regulatory laws. Other duties may be assigned by a manager.
