About The Position

Quantum North America is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to support commercial and industrial HVAC and plumbing projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, preparing comprehensive scopes of work, and supporting service repairs and project bids. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of HVAC and plumbing systems, excellent analytical and mathematical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. This position plays a critical role in ensuring competitive, precise proposals that drive project success and client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the HVAC industry with a proven history.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, installation techniques, and industry standards.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple estimates at one time.
  • Excellent communication and people skills to collaborate with technicians, clients, team members and account managers.
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret repair/project specifications and needs.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to resolve issues and mitigate repair/project risks

Responsibilities

  • Assist service team members with estimating, proposal generation and closure of sale of new work.
  • Review repair/project documentation to understand repair/project requirements.
  • Accurately estimate HVAC and plumbing repairs/projects including the cost, materials, and labor required based off information provided by technicians and account managers.
  • Prepare, submit & maintain a log of bid proposals.
  • Collaborate with service technicians and account managers to analyze repair/project needs, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain a database of supplier and subcontractor contacts and cost history for future estimating needs.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and materials to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
  • Collaborate with account managers and Director of Service to review and analyze completed repairs/projects for accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
  • Work closely with dispatch and billing to ensure approved work is set up, completed, and billed.
