Job Title: Service Engineering Intern Job Description: PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Exposure to Allison’s products and organization through support of cross-functional teams and initiatives Support investigation and analysis of failed transmissions and/or parts, with a focus on vehicle up-time and the Allison customer experience Participate in development of investigative plans for emerging or major issues Support preparation of technical documents to inform service network of product issues, product updates, and releases Support the development of specialized training and tools, as-needed Support the Allison Technical Assistance Center EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS College undergraduate or graduate school status with 2-3 years at an accredited college or university, pursing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Automotive, or related field Preferred 3.0 GPA in major SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Basic technical skills Strong desire to learn and initiative to participate in a collaborative environment Basic mechanical aptitude Strong analytical skills Proficient with MS Office ADDITIONAL INTERN PROGRAM ACTIVITIES (SOME OPTIONAL) Dedicated mentor throughout the internship assignment Students vs. Mentors softball and kickball tournament Community service day Leadership meet & greet event Allison Transmission Vehicle Ride & Drive on the test track Opportunities to work cross-functionally in a Global Headquarters Primary Location: Indianapolis, IN Additional Locations: Allison Transmission is an equal opportunity employer. Requirements

  • College undergraduate or graduate school status with 2-3 years at an accredited college or university, pursing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Automotive, or related field
  • Basic technical skills
  • Strong desire to learn and initiative to participate in a collaborative environment
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient with MS Office
