About The Position

Cadwell Industries began with the design of the world’s first microprocessor-controlled EMG instrument, and now offers neurodiagnostic and electrodiagnostic (EDX) medical equipment, and supplies and accessories for EMG, EEG, IONM, and PSG. Cadwell is proud to design, source, manufacture and support our American-made neurodiagnostic solutions. Today, we employ more than 110 people at our Kennewick headquarters, who contribute to research, hardware and software design, assembly, marketing, distribution, sales support, and customer support. We also have a network of sales and support representatives in the USA, and a growing international team based in China, Singapore, and the Netherlands. The Service Engineering Technician Intern supports the Technical Service Department through equipment repair, administrative support, and basic troubleshooting. Will work closely with technical and non-technical team members on a variety of tasks that facilitate development as an Electronics Engineer or related field. The Intern position is a hands-on role. Regular tasks, assistance, projects, and special assignments may be part of your work experience.

Requirements

  • Current pursuit of Associate or Bachelor’s degree in electronics or related field required
  • Relevant previous experience either in class lab environment, home hobby, or work environment required
  • Basic electronics skills including: disassemble/reassemble basic hardware components; solder basic PCB components; and use of oscilloscope, power supply, and volt meter
  • Basic understanding of PC hardware/software
  • Reliably complete assigned tasks with limited supervision, and demonstrate learning and building on previous instruction and experiences
  • Competency in computer skills: MS Office and Google applications, query tools, and database systems and applications
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills required; including reading, explaining, documenting, and following instructions, forms, and processes, and participating in team/project discussions and presentations
  • Complete work both independently and as an effective member of the team, adapting to changing requirements, deadlines, and priorities as needed
  • Critical success criteria include attention to detail, organized approach to work, effective time management, problem solving, follow-through, and meeting quality and productivity standards

Responsibilities

  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair various non-conforming electronic assemblies, devices, and components, completing work in a timely manner, with direction and support from the Service Department Lead
  • Provide general support to the Service team with administrative and other tasks as assigned
  • Maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, and follow prescribed safety procedures and regulations
  • Complete required documentation and paperwork
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
