About The Position

MacGregor is a global company operating in 30 countries with 2000 employees, providing sustainable cargo and load handling solutions to the maritime and offshore industries. We are seeking a hands-on Service Engineer with Hydraulic and Mechanical competence to perform repair, maintenance, and service on critical marine equipment, including shipboard cranes, hatch covers, and deck machinery. The role requires a commitment to quality and safety to ensure customer vessels operate smoothly. The position involves working at local shipyards and ports worldwide, with flexible working hours in response to demand.

Requirements

  • Background in the merchant, offshore, naval or maritime industry, with a primary focus on hydraulic and mechanical equipment.
  • Minimum 3 years of hydraulic and mechanical experience
  • Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods of time
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of electric systems is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge and experience in basic electronics are a plus.
  • Basic working knowledge of electronics, experience in PLC's is a plus
  • Previous experience with ship and/or port cranes, winches

Responsibilities

  • Diagnostics and troubleshooting of hydraulic and mechanical equipment
  • Supervise and perform the refurbishment, upgrades, inspections, preventative maintenance and corrective actions
  • Identify service and spares sales opportunities and communicate them to the line manager to support all activities
  • To support Service overall goals and budgets
  • Preparing detailed service reports and documentation for all work performed
  • Ensure that all activities comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS), QHSE and other rules and requirements according to MacGregor standards
