Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Min. 2 years of experience in Service and/or manufacturing is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a regulated industry, such as Medical Devices, is preferred.
  • Lean Sigma experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of machine and electrical safety standards, preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, CREO, Minitab, and databases; preferred.
  • Six-Sigma Black Belt and Lean certifications preferred.
  • FPx and/or Project Management certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in Service engineering projects, including planning and completing assigned tasks on time and with high quality.
  • Participates in Service investigations, develops plans, and executes tasks to resolve process issues, including Nonconformances (NC), complaint investigations, audit observations, and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Provides daily support and guidance to production and Service.
  • Understands existing processes, tooling setup, and machine programs to perform tasks related to process validation (Installation Qualification, Operation Qualification, Performance Qualification, Computer Software Validation, and Test Method Validation) and engineering studies.
  • Supports process improvements in Service systems by applying appropriate engineering principles and standard strategies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Assists with gage design, measurement system analysis, and gage implementation as needed.
  • Operates various measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, comparators, tensile testers, and coordinate measurement systems to support engineering testing.
  • Develops fixtures and designs tools, and can effectively communicate and work with tool designers.
  • Supports tasks related to the acquisition of new equipment, including user requirements specifications, machine selection, installation, validation, employee training, and other related equipment responsibilities as needed.
  • Reviews complex layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensions.
  • Writes protocols and reports.
  • Participates in designed experiments and capability studies as support staff, collects and maintains documents, and records process specifications.
  • Performs programming, setup, and troubleshooting of complex equipment or measuring instruments.
  • Gathers process documentation, and conducts training on processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Contributes to the creation of Service and inspection procedures.
  • Participates in cross-functional teams, which may include but are not limited to Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, Finance, Product Development, and personnel from other sites.
  • Ensures compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and other safety precautions in the work area.
  • Train lower-level Service personnel
  • Assist lower-level Service personnel in diagnosing and resolving technical problems
  • Serves as a model for operators in attitude, machine operation, process adherence, and decision-making.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level.
  • Responsible for adhering to all Company guidelines related to health, safety, and environmental practices as applicable.
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
