About The Position

Körber is seeking a passionate and innovative Service Engineer, Automation to join their team. This role involves troubleshooting and modifying PLC programs for machine automation, updating operator interfaces, supporting retrofits and repairs, identifying obsolete components, suggesting design improvements, integrating third-party equipment, and performing advanced diagnostics and testing. The position requires travel to customer facilities for troubleshooting, retrofits, and repairs, as well as performing repair, maintenance, or SLA services on equipment. The ideal candidate will be flexible to support customer projects with potential short notice and off-schedule days, stay updated on industry changes, and support customers outside of normal working hours as needed. The role emphasizes positive and professional customer interaction.

Requirements

  • A.S. degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics Technology or equivalent experience required
  • 3+ years of industry programming experience
  • Excellent customer-facing skills
  • Able to read and understand prints for Electrical wiring

Nice To Haves

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering preferred
  • Experience with Allen Bradley and B&R controls components and Fanuc robots preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred
  • Able to travel 75%+ regularly
  • Familiar with the following programming languages is a plus (Python, Java, C#, VB)
  • Familiar with E-plan

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs to automate machines using Allen Bradley Studio 5000 software or B&R Automation Studio
  • Navigate and update the operator interface for machine control using Allen Bradley FT View Studio
  • Work with Service Engineering to support retrofits, changes, and repairs
  • Identify obsolete components and suggest upgrades for customers
  • Provide suggestions for design improvements or changes
  • Integrate third party equipment into machine functions
  • Travel to the customer’s facility for troubleshooting, retrofit, and repair activities
  • Communicate and interact with customers in a positive and professional manner
  • Perform advance diagnosis and testing
  • Perform repair, maintenance, or SLA services on equipment at customer sites
  • Demonstrate flexibility to support customer projects with potential short notice and off schedule days
  • Stay up to date on industry changes and information
  • Support customers outside of normal working hours as needed
