Job SummaryThe Mechanical / Plumbing Service Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily service operations for mechanical and plumbing service technicians. This role acts as the central point of communication between customers, technicians, supervisors, and management to ensure service calls are scheduled, dispatched, tracked, and closed out efficiently. The dispatcher plays a critical role in maximizing productivity, maintaining customer satisfaction, and supporting field operations.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of dispatching experience in mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, or construction services preferred
  • Strong understanding of service operations and field workflows
  • Ability to manage multiple technicians and service calls simultaneously
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Proficiency with computers, dispatching software, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Valid drivers license preferred

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and dispatch mechanical and plumbing service technicians for daily service calls
  • Monitor technician locations, job progress, and schedule changes throughout the day
  • Receive and process incoming service requests, calls, and emails
  • Prioritize emergency and after-hours service calls as needed
  • Coordinate manpower, parts availability, and job readiness
  • Communicate job details, scope, and customer expectations to technicians
  • Update work orders, job notes, and service statuses in the service management system
  • Maintain clear communication with service supervisors, project managers, and field staff
  • Assist with customer follow-ups, schedule confirmations, and service updates
  • Support work order close-out and documentation accuracy
  • Track technician productivity and report scheduling issues or conflicts
