The Service Development Representative (SDR) acts as a marketer and case manager within the community, serving as a liaison between providers and referral sources to facilitate smooth transitions of care. The SDR is responsible for developing and implementing business and marketing plans, managing an individual marketing budget, and collaborating with internal teams and the community to identify educational needs. This role involves building referral relationships, acting as an information conduit between the facility and community resources, and conducting pre-admission screenings. The SDR also assists patients and families with care alternatives, communicates screening results, and actively participates in community development of hospital services. Representatives provide consultative and educational services, promote mental health prevention awareness, and sit on community resource boards. The ultimate goal is to foster positive relationships and improve community life for mental health patients.
