About The Position

The Service Department Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling financial transactions, supporting service operations, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for customers. This role serves as a key point of contact for customers at the completion of their service visit.

Responsibilities

  • Process customer payments (cash, credit card) accurately and efficiently
  • Properly document all transactions on repair orders (ROs), including attaching receipts or noting cash payments
  • Obtain required customer signatures on completed ROs
  • Direct customer questions regarding repairs to the appropriate Service Advisor
  • Organize and distribute completed ROs into correct categories (Advisor, Internal, Warranty), including splitting paperwork when necessary
  • Monitor customer flow at the counter and assist or direct them to appropriate staff (Advisor, Parts, etc.)
  • Contact customers with completed vehicles to ensure timely pickup
  • Maintain and balance cash drawer; notify Service Manager when change is needed
  • Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally
  • Assist customers or route calls to the appropriate department or team member
  • Direct service appointment calls to BDC or available Service Advisors
  • Remain adaptable and willing to assist in other service-related areas as needed
  • Maintain coffee bar: brew coffee, restock supplies (creamers, sugar, napkins, snacks)
  • Monitor and restock restrooms throughout the day (toilet paper, soap, cleanliness)
  • Keep common dealership areas clean and organized (chairs, trash, cups, etc.)
  • Communicate restocking needs via email to designated team members
  • Assist customers with loaner vehicle setup using SSLP system as needed
  • Ensure loaner vehicles are properly staged at the end of each day
  • Verify no loaner vehicles remain on the sales lot
