As a Senior, you will work in one of our Service Delivery Centers that is made up of high-performing US-based resources, who work closely with our experienced client serving professionals, to deliver project-based work and managed services to our US-based Financial Services clients. The opportunity You will play a key role in defining and reviewing how Private Equity (“PE”), Private Credit, and Real Estate Fund advisors meet regulatory, tax, and financial statement reporting requirements, using our new, proprietary EY-developed technology platform. EY’s Accounting and Administration platform brings investment risk, transactional, and holdings data into a single platform for workflow management, transparency, and accountability. Top-tier fund managers are using the EY platform to lower their reporting costs and streamline their fund accounting and fund financial reporting processes. Requirements

  • Understand processes and execute detailed procedures based on knowledge of fund accounting, controllership, investment books and records, and/or fund financial reporting
  • Knowledge of private equity and Fund of Funds investment characteristics and the application of regulatory and financial reporting rules to those investments
  • Ability to create and deliver client reporting in a fast-paced environment
  • Understand operationally complex fund accounting and financial reporting concepts
  • Develop relationships with team members across multiple geographic locations and time zones
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, finance, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience related to fund accounting, fund administration, fund controllership, and/or fund financial reporting
  • People management experience with leading project teams and managing direct reports within an organization
  • Experience related to investment books and records, fund valuation, capital calls and distributions, board reporting and production of audited financial statements
  • Analytical skills, especially an understanding of transaction posting, and investment trial balance debits and credits
  • Strong proven communication skills demonstrated through effective writing and presentations to clients and internal stakeholders; based on critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • An understanding of financial products and services, in particular private equity funds
  • An interest in working in an environment which encourages continuous learning, development, and identification of opportunities for improvement of individual and team performance
  • A willingness to work in an office when production activities require but will have the flexibility to work remotely
  • A willingness to travel on an as-needed basis for client meetings

Nice To Haves

  • CPA
  • Experience operating accounting software such as Investran, Geneva, eFront, or other investment sub-ledger systems
  • Experience with other software tools including Workiva for financial reporting, document management systems, workflow systems, and/or other relevant technologies
  • Experience in fund financial reporting and analysis

Responsibilities

  • Understand the intricacies of PE and PE fund-of-funds investment operations and financial statement reporting
  • Perform critical accounting activities, including recording capital calls, booking quarter-end valuations, and performing daily transaction processing
  • Define new procedures and controls to enhance the overall operational risk process
  • Drive high-quality work products within expected timeframes and budget
  • Assist with managing risks and ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes
  • Stay current on business and industry trends relevant to our clients, including the latest private equity fund structures and investment record keeping standards
