About The Position

The Service Coordinator position requires learning technical information, parts and details specific to the fire alarm industry. This person functions as the Service Manager’s assistant but has a high level of independent responsibility as the primary contact for Academy Fire. Whatever is needed to get the job done is priority and could be a task like unloading parts, planning fleet maintenance or doing inventory. This friendly and positive person needs to be able to efficiently organize a multitude of tasks independently. This position can offer opportunities for growth internally or in the field for someone looking to start a career in the fire alarm industry, which is highly in demand.

Requirements

  • Service industry experience, fire alarm or electrical preferred
  • Customer service experience
  • Microsoft 365
  • Able to learn enterprise level software
  • Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required.
  • MVR checks are required for all driving positions.

Responsibilities

  • Learn technical fire alarm basics to understand parts, service requests and field staff needs.
  • Work with the service manager to schedule and process recurring inspections and service requests.
  • Work closely with the field staff to prepare jobs and provide what is needed to complete them.
  • Assist with safety training.
  • Assist with parts management.
  • Assist the sales team with construction tasks such as permitting.
  • Eagerness to grow company through your efforts.
  • Ability to interact with many types of people, both externally and internally.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Work closely with both dispatchers and account managers to schedule and process inspection and service requests. These projects are with large corporate companies and there are days that can be fast-paced and require juggling incoming requests with work in progress.
