About The Position

The Service Center Operations Supervisor – 2nd Shift – is responsible for overseeing outbound operations, implementing effective strategies, ensuring shipping measures and on time delivery, and demonstrating a strong focus on continuous improvement. The role also requires a commitment to safety standards and effective people leadership skills. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and detail-oriented professional who can effectively manage diverse aspects of distribution center operations while promoting a positive and engaging work culture.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Proven experience in distribution center management, with a focus on inbound and inventory control/quality assurance operations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain processes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the regional distribution center, ensuring efficient and timely inbound processes.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Implement best practices to maximize productivity in receiving and handling incoming shipments.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve distribution center performance.
  • Establish and enforce quality control procedures to meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve quality issues.
  • Conduct regular inspections and implement measures to improve overall product quality.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Uphold safety and compliance standards.
  • Lead and inspire a team of distribution center staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and training to team members to enhance performance and skill development.
  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet operational demands.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations within the distribution center.
  • Conduct regular safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety among team members.
  • Investigate and address any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
  • Cultivate a positive organizational culture.
  • Encourage teamwork, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Implement and oversee continuous improvement initiatives within the distribution center.
