This role is responsible for creating freight manifest lists, assisting dispatchers with driver assignments and maintaining dispatch sheets, and advising drivers on freight pick-up and delivery issues. The position also involves scheduling, tracking, tracing, and billing, as well as coordinating Line Haul drivers to ensure timely freight movement. The Service Center Clerk III will interact with various operational personnel and drivers, assist with Line Haul activities, and help plan dispatches to meet cost and service goals. Key duties include maintaining count lists, investigating and resolving freight discrepancies (overages, shortages, damages, including Hazmat), preparing OS&D paperwork, repacking OS&D freight, and maintaining accurate records of OS&D issues. Additionally, this role serves as a first-line resource for less experienced clerical staff, providing coaching, answering questions, and offering one-on-one on-the-job training. Responsibilities may also include setting up and maintaining employee files, payroll records, compiling job applicant information for AAP compliance, processing payroll change forms, compiling new employee information for payroll, and conducting new employee orientations. Regular attendance is required, and employees must be able to perform any and all other duties as assigned, including those that may arise due to operational, safety, or other needs.
