About The Position

This entry-level position provides daily cleaning of assigned work areas according to a work schedule, under close supervision from department supervisors or lead persons. The Service Associate also responds to emergency cleaning requests, such as spills, and refills paper or chemical supplies. The role may involve operating floor-cleaning equipment. Work schedules must be completed thoroughly by the end of each shift. Preferred hours are Monday through Friday, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The position is listed as 20 hours per week.

Requirements

• English communication skills are required.
• No minimum education is required.
• No prior experience is required; skills may be learned on the job.
• Must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned facility areas using the seven-step procedure: high dusting; dry mopping floors; damp wiping horizontal surfaces and spot-cleaning walls; cleaning bathrooms; emptying trash and replacing liners; wet mopping floors; and inspecting completed work.
• Use the appropriate cleaning chemical for each task; do not mix chemicals or put them in improperly labeled bottles.
• Respond to emergency cleaning requests within five minutes of receiving instructions.
• Move furniture, relocate beds, and stock supplies as requested by a supervisor.
• Be aware of relevant Right to Know information and proper fire-safety responses.
• Complete all tasks requested by a supervisor in a timely manner and with a positive attitude.
