About The Position

The Service Apprentice Technician will conduct all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental and contamination control policies, procedures and regulations. This role involves attending and successfully completing required tasks and technician training classes in the apprenticeship program. The apprentice will maintain a minimum set of tools to diagnose, disassemble and assemble machine components to manufacturer’s specifications. They will perform basic equipment repair functions including maintenance, diagnostics, and removal/replacement of parts and major components with support from a designated mentor. The apprentice will work in the assigned area under the direct guidance of a qualified technician, maintaining a neat and orderly fashion, and looking for ways to improve methods of work, work area, and safety standards. Documentation of repairs performed and accounting for repair times will be required using appropriate software. Apprenticeship program documentation must be submitted to the mentor and supervisor as required. The role requires approaching work in a positive manner, maintaining conduct supportive of the work team, and contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations. Assistance with facility maintenance, following contamination control guidelines, and performing general maintenance duties are also part of the role. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 6 months or less experience
  • Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and relevant Dealer software programs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a minimum set of tools as defined by the Apprenticeship Program to diagnose, disassemble and assemble machine components to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Performs basic equipment repair functions including maintenance, diagnostics, remove and replacement of parts and major components with support from a designated mentor, as needed.
  • Works in the assigned area under the direct guidance of a qualified technician in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly looking for ways of improving the methods of work, work area, and safety standards.
  • Completes required documentation utilizing appropriate software to document repairs performed on equipment, and accounting for repair times.
  • Submits Apprenticeship program documentation to mentor and supervisor as required by the program.
  • Approaches work in a positive manner and maintains conduct that is supportive of the work team.
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations.
  • Assists with maintaining the facility by following proper contamination control guidelines, including housecleaning, and performing other general maintenance duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
