The Service Apprentice Technician - Heavy Equipment role involves conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations. The apprentice will wear proper personal protective equipment and attend/complete required tasks and technician training classes within the apprenticeship program. A minimum set of tools is required to diagnose, disassemble, and assemble machine components to manufacturer’s specifications. Basic equipment repair functions, including maintenance, diagnostics, and removal/replacement of parts and major components, will be performed with support from a mentor. The apprentice will work in the assigned area under the direct guidance of a qualified technician, maintaining a neat and orderly workspace and seeking improvements in work methods, the work area, and safety standards. Documentation of repairs and repair times using appropriate software is required, along with submitting program documentation to mentors and supervisors. A positive approach and supportive conduct towards the work team are expected, contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations. The role also includes assisting with facility maintenance, following contamination control guidelines, housecleaning, and performing other general maintenance duties. Other duties as assigned.
