About The Position

This apprenticeship program is designed to train individuals in the essential skills required for heavy equipment repair. Apprentices will learn to conduct work safely, attend and complete training classes, maintain a set of tools, perform basic equipment repair functions with mentor support, and work in an orderly fashion under the guidance of a qualified technician. The role also involves documenting repairs, contributing to team efforts, and assisting with facility maintenance. Key competencies include a strong focus on safety, developing job-specific skills, effective communication, initiative, results orientation, confidence, adaptability, credibility, and personal development.

Requirements

Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
Formal Education High School diploma or GED
Experience 6 months or less

Nice To Haves

Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and relevant Dealer software programs.

Responsibilities

Conducts all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental and contamination control policies, procedures and regulations.
Wears proper personal protective equipment.
Attends and successfully completes required tasks and technician training classes in the apprenticeship program.
Maintains a minimum set of tools as defined by the Apprenticeship Program to diagnose, disassemble and assemble machine components to manufacturer’s specifications.
Performs basic equipment repair functions including maintenance, diagnostics, remove and replacement of parts and major components with support from a designated mentor, as needed.
Works in the assigned area under the direct guidance of a qualified technician in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly looking for ways of improving the methods of work, work area, and safety standards.
Completes required documentation utilizing appropriate software to document repairs performed on equipment, and accounting for repair times.
Submits Apprenticeship program documentation to mentor and supervisor as required by the program.
Approaches work in a positive manner and maintains conduct that is supportive of the work team.
Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations.
Assists with maintaining the facility by following proper contamination control guidelines, including housecleaning, and performing other general maintenance duties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
