About The Position

This apprenticeship program is designed to train individuals in the essential skills needed to become a Service Technician specializing in Generators. The role involves conducting all assigned work safely, adhering to all applicable policies and regulations, and wearing proper personal protective equipment. Apprentices will attend and complete required training classes, maintain a set of tools for diagnosing and assembling machine components, and perform basic equipment repair functions such as maintenance, diagnostics, and parts replacement with mentor support. The position requires working under the guidance of a qualified technician, improving work methods and safety standards, and completing required documentation using appropriate software. Additionally, apprentices will contribute to team efforts, assist with facility maintenance, and perform other duties as assigned. Requirements

Formal Education High School diploma or GED
Experience 6 months or less
Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.

Nice To Haves

Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and relevant Dealer software programs.

Responsibilities

Conducts all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental and contamination control policies, procedures and regulations.
Wears proper personal protective equipment.
Attends and successfully completes required tasks and technician training classes in the apprenticeship program.
Maintains a minimum set of tools as defined by the Apprenticeship Program to diagnose, disassemble and assemble machine components to manufacturer’s specifications.
Performs basic equipment repair functions including maintenance, diagnostics, remove and replacement of parts and major components with support from a designated mentor, as needed.
Works in the assigned area under the direct guidance of a qualified technician in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly looking for ways of improving the methods of work, work area, and safety standards.
Completes required documentation utilizing appropriate software to document repairs performed on equipment, and accounting for repair times.
Submits Apprenticeship program documentation to mentor and supervisor as required by the program.
Approaches work in a positive manner and maintains conduct that is supportive of the work team.
Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations.
Assists with maintaining the facility by following proper contamination control guidelines, including housecleaning, and performing other general maintenance duties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
