Service and Repair Technician
About The Position
Do you have hands-on experience keeping trucks, trailers, or heavy equipment running? Quantum Fuel Systems is hiring a technician who brings mechanical know-how and a problem-solving mindset, and we’ll train you on the specialized inspection and service work that makes this role unique. You’ll be part of a small but growing, skilled team supporting clean-energy fuel systems: natural gas, hydrogen, and alternative fuels, used in commercial vehicles across the country and beyond. The work is varied, field-based, and genuinely important: you’ll help ensure these systems are safe, certified, and performing.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; ASE certification or technical school a plus
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record; Class A CDL (or ability to obtain one)
- Comfort with Microsoft Office basics (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Fluency in English, written and verbal
- Willingness to travel and work in varied field conditions
- Must be able to pass the Texas RRC CNG Service Installation exam (we’ll support you)
Nice To Haves
- Experience with high-pressure gas systems or an existing TRRC CNG certification will set you apart.
- Certified by TRRC for CNG service installation is also a plus.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, set up, and test compressed-gas cylinders in Virtual pipeline trailers: we’ll train you on this
- Troubleshoot and repair Quantum products at our Midland, Texas facility
- Conduct maintenance on customer vehicles, trailers, and fuel systems
- Write service reports and help document procedures
- Occasionally travel domestically to perform inspections and service
