About The Position

A Service Advisor initiates automotive services and repairs by communicating with customers to ascertain the maintenance services requested. In addition, they verify any warranty and service contract coverage; identify and inform customers of any additional vehicle maintenance or repair opportunities deemed valuable to maintain vehicle safety and performance; develop estimates and secure commitments to perform work; write repair orders and maintain customer rapport and records. The Service Advisor is an excellent opportunity to experience the day-to-day operations of the service department. Whether answering and making phone calls and emails or assisting service customers face-to-face, you’ll be responsible for ensuring every customer has a positive, lasting experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years in automotive service
  • Proven ability to set and achieve targeted goals
  • Consistently meets or exceeds productivity and service standards
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and follow-up skills
  • Works as a team player and interacts with customers, managers, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner
  • Keen technical skills and thrives on learning
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • A Valid Driver’s License and favorable Motor Vehicle Record
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen for illegal substances
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Initiates automotive services and repairs by communicating with customers to ascertain the maintenance services requested.
  • Verifies warranty and service contract coverage.
  • Identifies and informs customers of any additional vehicle maintenance or repair opportunities deemed valuable to maintain vehicle safety and performance.
  • Develops estimates and secures commitments to perform work.
  • Writes repair orders and maintains customer rapport and records.
  • Answers and makes phone calls and emails.
  • Assists service customers face-to-face.
  • Ensures every customer has a positive, lasting experience.
  • Provides every customer with an estimate of repair costs, including parts and labor, or identification of warranty coverage, after completing a complete vehicle assessment.
  • Provides customers with authorization in a timely fashion for additional repairs that may be needed before the repairs are attempted.
  • Establishes a realistic and specific time promise (including customers waiting) for each customer.
  • Maintains an accurate job tracking sheet that provides a proper workload based on daily calculations of group capability.
