Responsibilities

  • Greet customers upon arrival in the maintenance area.
  • Listen attentively to customer's description of vehicle concerns and symptoms.
  • Clarify descriptions of problems.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections.
  • Proactively check for recalls.
  • Retrieve crucial vehicle information such as mileage and VIN numbers.
  • Check vehicle maintenance records and examine service schedules.
  • Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates and providing daily updates.
  • Call customers when the job is complete and the truck is ready for pickup.
  • Establish good customer relations by providing estimates and timelines.
  • Perform administrative duties on a per-need basis.
  • Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers, and explaining provisions and exclusions.
  • Prepare repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, causes discovered, and repairs/services required.
  • Obtain necessary approval signatures.
  • Enter RO into the service database system and send to Estimator and Dispatcher.
  • Monitor repair work to ensure timely completion.
  • Print warranty and repair orders.
  • Issue sublet purchase order numbers.
  • Review jobs when completed.
  • Collect payments from jobs.
  • Close out service orders.
