The Service Advisor is responsible for serving as a liaison between the Service Department technicians and the parts department by maintaining customer satisfaction. This role involves greeting customers, determining necessary repairs, obtaining customer authorization, writing up service needs, and providing accurate estimates for cost and completion time. The Service Advisor must effectively communicate with customers to ensure satisfactory repairs and to promote the sale of necessary repair or maintenance services. A strong understanding of warranty and service/insurance policies is required, along with the ability to keep customers informed about their vehicle's prognosis. Responsibilities also include calling customers to set appointments and handling telephone inquiries in a timely manner, as well as attending required training and department meetings.
