About The Position

The Server works in the dining room to prepare the front of house for meals, take orders from residents and guests, and complete dining room closing duties. The role supports the organization’s mission, vision, goals, and culture, helping provide residents with comfort, connection, and joy.

Requirements

• Experience providing excellent customer service.
• A positive attitude and ability to work well with cooks and other staff.
• Ability to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.
• Ability to deliver orders in a timely manner.
• Strong command of English sufficient to read, write, and interpret administrative information.
• Ability to continuously walk and stand, sit infrequently, and frequently climb stairs; an elevator may be available as an alternative.
• Ability to lift, carry, and push 0–10 pounds constantly and 11–50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to bend and squat frequently, including manipulating weights as described in the physical qualifications.
• Ability to twist or rotate occasionally and reach frequently, including the specified weight-manipulation demands.
• Ability to read clearly with or without corrective lenses and hear telephone audible alarms.
• Ability to perform work both inside and outside.

Responsibilities

• Support the mission, vision, and goals of the organization and promote its culture and vision.
• Accurately take food and drink orders from residents and guests with a positive attitude.
• Write resident or guest food orders on order slips.
• Engage with residents in a friendly manner.
• Know the menu and make suggestions.
• Check that tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
• Perform end-of-shift duties in the dining room and kitchen.
• Assist food preparation staff when necessary.
• Attend community training courses and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual training through the designated Learning Management System (LMS).
• Perform other duties as assigned that relate to the success of the community and residents’ care, comfort, and happiness.
