About The Position

The Server provides residents and guests with a high-quality dining experience and delivers Platinum Service® with every interaction. The role serves meals and beverages, takes orders, attends to residents’ needs, and helps prepare, maintain, and clean dining areas. Servers may also support other dining rooms and community events as needed. West Hills Village Senior Residence serves senior living, assisted care, and respite care residents in the Portland community.

Requirements

Meet all applicable state and federal requirements for the position.
Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and personnel, and the public.
Be capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, residents, and families.
Frequently lift or carry up to 30 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.; frequently push or pull up to 30 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
Perform bending, twisting, stooping, reaching at or below shoulder level, and frequent standing or walking.
Execute tasks independently and express oneself clearly and effectively.
Bring a resume and two forms of government-issued identification to the hiring event.

Food service and/or hospitality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve appetizing meals according to established portion-control procedures.
Distribute and collect menus as needed; take meal orders, serve food and beverages, and answer menu questions.
Follow sanitary regulations and provide Platinum Service® during each dining experience.
Set up meal trays, food carts, and dining rooms with utensils, condiments, and napkins; clean common areas before and after meals.
Help check resident trays before distribution and pour hot and cold beverages.
Assist residents with opening containers and condiments as needed, and attend to resident and guest needs during meals.
Prepare and deliver snacks for community events and parties.
Bus tables during and after meals.
Support other dining rooms, events, and activities as needed.
Clean dining room areas according to assigned schedules.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
