About The Position
Rehabilitation Hospital of Southern New Mexico, part of Ernest Health, is seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) for day and night shifts. The 40-bed hospital provides specialized inpatient and outpatient rehabilitative services to communities in Southern New Mexico. It serves patients recovering from disabilities caused by injuries, illnesses, or chronic medical conditions, including stroke survivors and pediatric patients. The RN delivers rehabilitative care and works with physicians and interdisciplinary clinical teams to implement and optimize treatment plans. The position includes documenting patient progress and therapy responses, and helping patients and families understand medical information throughout the rehabilitation process. Walk-in interviews are held every Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 4451 E Lohman Ave, Las Cruces, NM 88011; candidates are asked to bring a resume and be ready to interview.
Responsibilities
- Deliver rehabilitative nursing care to patients, including patients recovering from brain injuries, strokes, spinal cord injuries, illnesses, and chronic medical conditions.
- Work with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, dietitians, and case managers to implement and optimize treatment plans.
- Maintain detailed records of patient improvements, challenges, and responses to therapy interventions.
- Explain complex medical information clearly to patients and families throughout the rehabilitation process.
