About The Position

A taste of Texas, a taste of Louisiana: Legacy Ventures’ Restaurant Management team combined their experience working in the sister regions to develop a restaurant concept serving both Tex-Mex and Cajun cuisines. Dos Bocas (“two mouths”) is located in Legacy Ventures’ Park Pavilion mixed-use development in downtown Atlanta, spans two stories and 8,000 SF, and features an outdoor patio overlooking Centennial Olympic Park. We are now hiring for PM shifts. Position Summary: A server takes orders and delivers food and beverages. This position ensures the quality of the food and overall guest experience is excellent. A server is responsible for all billing and payment processing.

Requirements

  • Servers must consistently be able to assess, anticipate and meet guests’ needs and respond quickly without losing focus or projecting a mood that detracts from guests’ dining experience. This requires practical knowledge of industry customer service standards.
  • Servers must clearly communicate in a professional manner with guests, vendors, coworkers and management. They must understand instructions, read written company memorandums and communicate when he or she needs more direction.
  • A server must adapt to different personalities of guests and coworkers without losing focus. Extreme familiarity or conflicts with coworkers often weaken a team-oriented work environment.
  • Must understand products and services and understand customer needs clearly. Must gain experience and become current in state-of-the-art sales methods. Must meet sales goals.
  • Servers must perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling of materials.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to carry trays filled with multiple dishes and drinks.
  • Must recognize a problem when it arises and be able to resolve it appropriately by using good judgement, tact and initiative according to company policy and procedure.
  • Must use logic and reasoning to identify solutions and alternatives for a successful outcome. Must verify information by compiling, coding and calculating data.
  • Must know or quickly learn general accounting and mathematical skills. Must correctly operate various mechanical devices such as cash registers, mixers and hot beverage makers.
  • Must speak and write with excellent command of the English language including proper spelling and grammar.
  • Must work overtime when needed and assist the workload of others.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare tables for meals, including the complete set up of linens, silverware and glassware.
  • Perform light food preparation duties including bread, salad preparation, appetizers and desert presentation.
  • Greet guests in a professional manner and provide education about the food and beverage menus, how menu items are prepared, the ingredients used and the different cooking methods.
  • Inform customers of daily specials.
  • Check food and beverages for quality and presentation before serving to guest.
  • Serve food and beverage to guests.
  • Prepare and serve specialty dishes tableside as required.
  • Check identification to ensure that guests meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Provide wine recommendations to customers.
  • Deliver wine to table with appropriate glasses and use proper corkage and pouring techniques.
  • Receive guest payments and process transactions.
  • Clear and clean tables promptly according to proper sanitation standards.
  • Complete side duties as required including, polishing silverware, restaurant set up, and filling condiments.
