About The Position

AHC Hospitality represents a diverse array of hotels, restaurants, and resorts, and their team members provide exceptional experiences that delight guests. This role is at the Amway Grand Plaza Swiss Cafe. The position is responsible for fulfilling the daily operations of the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel’s Cafeteria, including guest service, table cleaning, basic food preparation, setup, and serving of food. The goal is to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for the employees of the AGPH, following guest service standards and fostering teamwork to provide quality service to each Hotel Associate.

  • Must have some guest service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily set up and/or breakdown of the restaurant by following daily checklists.
  • Serve all Hotel Associates in a friendly and quick manner.
  • Know each menu item and its ingredients.
  • Be aware of groups and activities that are going on in the hotel.
  • Follow and Maintain Health Department standards by filling out daily temp logs, rotate product first in, first out and record/dispose of expired product on the waste logs.
  • Exceed guest satisfaction and look for ways to provide the best possible service.
  • Understand all facets of job responsibilities and display the skills necessary to complete tasks.
  • Complete daily cleaning duties and side work tasks.
  • Report to work on time and rarely miss scheduled shifts. Correctly follow the department attendance policy.
  • Participate in department meetings and communicate freely expressing ideas, opinions or views. Communicate with management and other staff members.
  • Display a positive courteous and polite attitude, work well with others.
  • Take pride in appearance and report to work in complete uniform, wearing the proper shoes and socks professionally dressed and neatly groomed.
  • Display a sense of urgency and the ability to resolve guest concerns or department issues on their own.
  • Utilize time well and be productive throughout the entire shift while meeting department standards.
  • Look for ways to save money by reducing waste and controlling expenses. Also try to generate more revenues by offering ideas and suggestive selling to the guest whenever possible.
  • Keep work area neat and clean. Can be found picking up trash in public and back of the house areas of the Hotel. Know where to recycle items for the department and consistently place them in the appropriate bins and recycling stations.
  • Follow the AHC safety standards of our hotel.
  • Setting up all areas of the cafeteria in a timely manner.
  • Serving all hotel guests.
  • Basic food preparation for both hot line and salad bar.
  • Maintaining drink area.
  • Keeping breakdown area clean and delivering dirty dishes to the main dish room.
  • Cleaning dining room and filling of all condiments.
  • Actively taking care of each guest according to AHC guest service standards and department standards.
  • Monitoring food waste.
  • Maintain restaurant cleanliness and overall deep cleaning.
  • Attending Department Meetings.
  • Communicating with management or team members.
  • Follow hotel green policies.
  • Following AHC and Health Department Specs.
  • Actively work in the restaurants designated area: counter service, running food, and tables service.
  • Any other additional responsibilities that may be asked by General Manager or Food and Beverage Manager.
