About The Position

Take orders and serve food and beverages to residents and guests at tables in dining establishment. Works as a team member along with the service staff to ensure the community meets the quality of standards set forth by Dewar Properties, Inc.

Requirements

Ability to speak effectively with residents and co-workers
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram format.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must be able to spend up to 100% of time walking or standing during entire shift
Must be able to spend up to performing the following physical activities: Bend/Stoop/Squat, Push and Pull, Grasp/Grip/Turning, Finger Dexterity
Must be able to spend up to 20% of time performing the following physical activities: Reach above Shoulder, Climb Ladders
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Be able to lift up to 10 pounds and under on a frequent basis (33% to 66% of the time).
Be able to lift 10-25 pounds on an occasional need (1% to 33% of the time).

Responsibilities

Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware
Remove dishes and glasses from counters and take them to kitchen for cleaning
Clean tables and counter after residents have finished dining
Perform food preparation duties such as preparing salads, appetizers, and cold dishes, portioning desserts, and brewing coffee.
Garnish and decorate dishes in preparation for serving
Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens
Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers
Prepare hot, cold, and mixed beverages for residents.
Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods
Write residents’ food orders on order slip and give to kitchen staff
Create meal ticket and give to rental office for proper billing
Wash dishes
Sweep and mop dining room floor
Vacuum dining room area
Remove trash
Must be able to multi-task
Be able to work in fast-paced and customer service oriented environment
Represents the company in a professional manner both on and off the property
Report to work in a neat and clean uniform. Well groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.
Attends and participates in training seminars as requested by Management
Assist other staff members as needed
