Herons Restaurant Server PM
About The Position
Herons Restaurant is seeking a Full Time Server for PM/Evening shifts. The primary function of this role is to contribute to the overall day-to-day operations and long-term success of the restaurant by providing top-rated service. This includes having quality knowledge, understanding, and interest in all dishes and beverages served. The server is expected to provide polite, professional, fast, and courteous service with a high level of professionalism. The server's section encompasses the entire restaurant, including the bar, phone, and food line. Essential functions include taking orders, polishing glasses, pouring water and wine, bussing and resetting tables, and running food. Teamwork, a positive attitude, and fitting into the team are essential. The restaurant is considered the server's house, and guests are to be treated with respect.
Requirements
- Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in a clean uniform.
- Serving experience required.
- High school or equivalent education required.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.
- All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per The Umstead Hotel standards.
- Weekend availability.
Nice To Haves
- Hospitality experience preferred.
- Customer service: 1 year (Preferred).
- Restaurant experience: 1 year (Preferred).
- Serving: 1 year (Preferred).
- Food preparation: 1 year (Preferred).
Responsibilities
- Provide polite, professional, fast, and courteous service.
- Take food orders accurately from guests and enter them into the POS system (micros) with 100% accuracy.
- Obtain information about guest allergies and special needs and communicate this efficiently.
- Accurately deliver food (hot and cold) from the kitchen.
- Assist in clearing and resetting tables.
- Transport food to and from kitchens.
- Coordinate activities with other Servers to ensure a smooth dining experience for guests.
- Display a cordial, accommodating, and hospitable disposition while interacting with guests.
- Assist with In Room Dining service.
- Perform duties in the kitchen as assigned.
- Transport supplies as needed.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Manager.
