Herons Host PM
About The Position
The Herons Host PM position is a full-time role focused on supporting the day-to-day operations and long-term success of the restaurant. The primary responsibilities include greeting and interacting with guests in a kind, collected, and positive manner, demonstrating a clear understanding and interest in the dishes and beverages served. This role requires providing polite, professional, fast, and courteous service with a high level of professionalism, composure, and positivity at all times. Hosts must be accommodating, remain calm and sympathetic to guests, and accurately communicate reservation information to staff. Assistance may be required in various areas such as bussing tables, running food, delivering drinks, and resetting tables, emphasizing teamwork and a positive attitude. The position aims to ensure a great service experience for all guests, treating the restaurant as one's own house and guests as personal guests.
Requirements
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks.
- Must be a self-motivator and motivator of others.
- Must work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
- Must have a good knowledge of food and preparation.
- Must have or quickly acquire a good knowledge of wine.
- Must be able to relate to all levels of guests and management.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in a similar position.
- Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
- Must be able to consistently delight and satisfy our guest.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and oral.
- Ability to use OpenTable computer systems and Microsoft Word.
- Host experience required.
- High school or equivalent education required.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.

- Hospitality experience preferred.

- Accurately communicate with all staff members any upcoming reservations or potential guests.
- Assist wherever necessary, which is not limited to bussing tables, running food, delivering drinks, resetting tables, etc.
- Maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of Herons restaurant.
- Run food and beverage items whenever necessary.
